Free Concert Dedicated to the Pursuit of Happiness

Join us on Sept. 19-21 for a unique, free concert and workshop to celebrate one of the greatest human rights and to draw attention to the global fight against depression. We invite you to be our guest at the Berkshires’ newest location for holistic programs and group and personal retreats. Unaffiliated with any specific spiritual tradition, Eastover Estate and Retreat is a platform for anyone seeking to experience, or teach about, personal wellbeing and happiness.

Educating the Heart

Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all. ~ Aristotle ~ Attendance at the concert and open house is by optional donation with all proceeds going to support Pursuit-of-Happiness.org (POH). iStock_000010957099SmallThe Pursuit of Happiness Project is at the forefront of the global movement of Educating the Heart – spearheaded by a group of educators, scientists, and web professionals dedicated to the advancement of scientific knowledge about happiness and depression prevention. POH manages  a multimedia educational platform on the Internet focused on the topic of human happiness. The website provides educators, students, and the general public free access to clear, concise information on the history and scientific study of human happiness, positive psychology and mental well-being in general. One of the goals of POH is to reduce teen depression and suicide in China, Japan, and Korea as well as the U.S. – countries with the highest teen suicide rates in the world. POH is also one of the first US-based organizations working with school teachers in China. In 2012, POH began teaching an experimental curriculum on the “habits of happy people” to about 1,000 10th-grade students. Currently, POH has a team of volunteers working with teachers, students and parents to expand its 18-week course and extend that offering to a wider number of schools in the US, Asia and South America.
